Research lies at the core of Structura’s identity.

The organization considers the videogame as an interactive experience in constant evolution, characterized by a complexity that requires appropriate analytical tools. To study and narrate videogames means to decipher their nature, understand their deep structures, and recognize their cultural value.

Structura works from a set of fundamental theoretical axes: the concept of the interactive work; the distinction between different types of interactive experience; the relationship between experience and challenge; the plurality of narrative forms; the overcoming of the classical model of videogame criticism; and the emergence of a new awareness of the medium.

Particular attention is devoted to the political dimension of videogames, understood as spaces of expression, conflict, and positioning, as well as to issues of representation, diversity, and cultural responsibility. Structura’s research is grounded in a historical, critical, and non-ideological approach, capable of holding together cultural analysis, production contexts, and social transformations.

Research is not an end in itself, but feeds cultural design, education, and dialogue with institutions.
