ACTIVITIES
Structura’s activities develop along multiple trajectories, united by a shared vision: recognizing and enhancing the videogame as an interactive experience and as a complex cultural work.
Structura conceives and develops cultural projects that use the language of interactivity to generate reflection, participation, and awareness. Projects are designed as structured experiences, capable of engaging with museum, institutional, educational, and social contexts, while avoiding any form of simplification or spectacle-driven approaches.
Theoretical research and criticism
Research is the foundation of all Structura’s activities. The organization works on the cultural identity of videogames, on the distinction between different types of interactive experience, and on the need to move beyond obsolete critical models. Particular attention is given to the relationship between work, author, and user, and to the figure of the Conscious Gamer as a culturally aware subject.
Education and knowledge transmission
Structura develops educational paths and knowledge-transmission activities addressed to students, professionals, and institutions. Education is understood as a space for critical elaboration rather than technical training, and aims to provide tools for reading, analyzing, and designing interactive works.
Cultural events and formats
Structura designs and curates events, talks, and cultural formats dedicated to interactive arts, fostering dialogue among authors, scholars, cultural professionals, and audiences. Events are conceived as moments of exchange and collective growth, not as promotional showcases.
Applied games and interactive project development
Structura designs and produces applied games and interactive works for educational, cultural, and social contexts. The approach goes beyond the superficial use of game mechanics, and is grounded in a conscious design of interactive experience, where objectives, rules, challenge, and experience are coherently integrated. Applied games are conceived as responsible works, capable of conveying content, stimulating critical thinking, and supporting learning and participation processes.
Cultural consultancy for videogame development
Structura offers cultural and theoretical consultancy to development teams, independent studios, institutions, and publishers interested in strengthening the cultural identity of their projects. Consultancy focuses on the conceptual framework of the work, the coherence between authorial vision, game mechanics, and content, the management of narrative, symbolic, and political themes, and issues related to representation and cultural responsibility. The goal is to support the creation of conscious interactive works, avoiding stereotypes, simplifications, and opportunistic solutions.
Social and political applications of interactivity
Structura employs game mechanics and interactive systems to develop projects with social, educational, and communicative impact. Interactivity is used as a tool of cultural responsibility, capable of stimulating participation, critical reflection, and political awareness.
